Each February the American Dental Association sponsors national children’s dental health care month, and the Dr. Earl R. Crane Children’s Dental Health Center provides FREE dental treatment to uninsured children (5-18) who need of a check up or procedure.
A reason to SMILE
They are offering FREE dental treatment THROUGH MARCH too! Any guardian or parent of a child without dental health insurance should call (909) 885-2045 for an appointment at 580 W. 5th St, in San Bernardino, CA 92410.
Normally, they only charge $20.
Sadly, many children ages 6-11 in San Bernardino. The Dr. Earl R. Crane Children’s Dental Health Centerprovide screenings to every 1st grader in the San Bernardino city schools. This past 2012-2013 year, between 38-48% of them had untreated pain, an abscess and an immediate need to be seen by a dentist. The good news is dental disease is treatable and almost 100% preventable, and the children will also be given oral health instructions at the appointment.
You don’t have to be a dental professional, or know a child in need to still be of help.
This great (& FREE) opportunity is made available by the fundraising efforts of the members of the Assistance League in San Bernardino. Remember, every $20 takes care of a child in pain.
Send a check of any amount, payable to:

The dental clinic is largely supported by grants. But, their upcoming fundraiser is a fun and splashy Headdress Ball, with a Route 66 theme, including the classic cars.
It’s also fun for me that my HUGE headdress is sponsored by a local auto dealer and the costume is sponsored by the local dental society. Both of these organizations have long histories of supporting this dental clinic and the community, so I will tell more you about them in the near future.
Will I see YOU at the 2013 Ball?
On Saturday, April 20, there will be two shows: a luncheon and a black-tie event. I’d love to see you there – especially if you learned about this event through social media. Information about tickets and pictures from past years are available here.
Thank you for reading, and for any donations.
