My mind has been on two things: Gratefulness & New Beginnings
I can’t help but be continuously grateful during Thanksgiving week, and can only hope to be grateful the rest of the year. But this year is different, as I’m also focused on new beginnings. I’ve been coordinating a ribbon cutting ceremony the Monday after Thanksgiving (11/28) for Loma Linda University School of Dentistry‘s new Dental Hygiene Program and Clinic in Palm Desert, CA. The need for this clinic was researched and key partnerships were made years ago, and it’s exciting to see the final touches come to fruition. Job well done everybody!
My SUV was packed to the roof with ‘swag bags’ and a crystal podium with the University logo 5 days ago. Yes, I am usually over-prepared or early. Early is ‘on-time’ in my book. Also, to me over-prepared means when the unexpected arises, it’s easier to deal with and/or make changes. I don’t expect any changes.
The ceremony starts Monday night at 5:30 PM and you are welcome to join us at 34280 Gateway Drive, Building “G,” in Palm Desert, California 92211. If the timing of the ceremony doesn’t work for you, you are welcome to come by at anytime earlier in the day for a tour.
The dental hygiene classes started in September and we have dynamic faculty teaching classes and lab. Sometimes coordinating shedules can be a challenge, and we are excited to have us all together the Monday following Thanksgiving. It seemed very appropriate timing. In attendance will be: Dr. Richard Hart, the Loma Linda University President, Dr. Charles Goodacre, the School of Dentistry Dean, Kris Wilkins, the Department of Dental Hygiene Chair, Janeen Duff, the Palm Desert Site Coordinator. We are also pleased to have our alumnus Senator Bill Emmerson in attendance.
