April is national child abuse prevention and awareness month.
What are you doing on April 14 for lunch?

I’ll be at a fashion show benefitting the children at the Childhelp Village. Yes, I will be wearing a hat. I haven’t chosen it yet, but I’m open to suggestions.
A luncheon, fashion show, fresh baked goodies in ‘Grandma’s kitchen”, boutique shopping, and an AMAZING raffle with a $1,500 shopping spree, catered dinner for 10 and a spa gift certificate!

Oh… You can’t make it because you live in British Columbia or Dubai? That’s ok. Remember #NoKid Hungry? Together we CAN make a huge difference.

Children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. Over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States; however, those reports can include multiple children. In 2009, approximately 3.3 million child abuse reports and allegations were made involving an estimated 6 million children. Childhelp works diligently at effectively managing their resources, and 91.5% of every dollar spent goes directly to the programs benefitting the children.

A $70 donation for tickets is tax deductible up to $20. I know some under-privileged young ladies who would be thrillled to attend on your behalf, if you can’t make it and would like to sponsor them. Remember the Kappa Deltas and their recent 5K? Just write @Giddyup2 in the memo section, and the fundraising chair will let me know how many ladies I can invite. Checks can be mailed to:

Alta Loma, CA 91737

Oh…You CAN join me? Great!!

Fox news anchor Christine Devine will be honored as the “Spirit of Hope” recipient. Three former female mayors will be in attendance to judge attendees hats: Judith Valles of San Bernardino, Penny Lilburn of Highland and Pat Gibreath of Redlands.

Thank you in advance for any donation you choose to mail.
