I was fortunate to be invited as a keynote speaker at the 2013 Association of Dental Educators of Europe (ADEE) annual scientific session, held at the University of Birmingham in the UK. The conference was focused on technology & electronic education, and I taught them how to use social media in dental education.

I focused on five social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and LinkedIn. I also discussed blogging and my two favorite 3rd party applications: Buffer and Hootsuite – emphasizing the importance of health information privacy and Univeristy policies.

The University of Birmingham is a gorgeous campus and is ranked as a one of the top 20 Universities in the United Kingdom. Birmingham is known as an industrial city, and the second largest in England. The architecture of the buildings is very detailed, and the campus was full of rich history. Statues and plaques adorned the campus. We were mostly in the medical school, but had the opportunity to visit other buildings on a campus tour. My favorite was the Great Hall and is the featured image to this blog.
