Joe and Margie Arnett

Our Story

The Spark

In 2009, Joe and Margie Arnett had a simple idea: help business owners win at marketing so they could focus on what they love.

Both had spent years in the dental industry—Joe managing educational technology at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, Margie presenting at conferences across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. They knew the landscape. They saw how small practices struggled with the rapidly changing world of social media and digital marketing.

So they built something to help.

They called it GiddyUpGenie.

The Name

"Giddy Up" came from a shared love of horses and Southwest living—the spirit that shaped their life together.

"Genie" was the vision: be the magic behind the scenes. The force that makes complicated things simple. The partner who handles the hard stuff so you can focus on your craft.

From day one, the mission was clear: demystify technology and make it just work.

The Growth

What started with dental practices soon expanded. Restaurants. Churches. Small businesses across Southern California and beyond. In 2018, they added SMS marketing to the mix.

Joe handled the technical work and day-to-day client support. Margie—author, speaker, award-winning community volunteer—became the connector. The relationship builder. The voice on social media. (If you've ever messaged GiddyUpGenie online, you've talked to Margie.)

They were a team. Partners in business. Partners in life.

But success brought its own weight. The more clients they served, the thinner they stretched. There's only so much of yourself you can give before something has to change.

October 2014

Joe was on his way home from football practice on his motorcycle when everything changed. He'd stopped to pick up game film to upload to Hudl— something he'd done a hundred times before.

The accident left him with a broken leg, broken pelvis, broken arm, and massive internal injuries. Doctors gave him a 30% chance of survival.

What followed was months of not knowing. Would he walk again? Work again? Provide for his family? The questions didn't have answers, and the uncertainty was its own kind of weight.

Two things got them through: their faith in God, which had been the foundation of their lives long before this, and each other. Margie was there every day. Joe slowly healed. But when he came out the other side, he wasn't the same person.

The Pivot

When you face death, you see things clearly.

Joe realized the service business they'd built—trading hours for dollars, spreading themselves across dozens of clients—wasn't sustainable. Not if something happened again. Not if he couldn't show up.

He needed to build something that could work even when he couldn't.

Apps. Products. Automation.

Technology that solves real problems and keeps running—whether you're there or not.

The years of coaching football had shown him a gap: stat tracking was either too expensive, too complicated, or just didn't work for high school programs. The technology finally existed to fix it.

SnapStat was born.

Today

GiddyUpGenie is no longer a marketing agency. It's an app studio.

We build software for the communities we belong to.

SnapStat (launching 2026) brings effortless stat tracking to high school football—because Joe spent 15 years wishing it existed.

Acts2Track (launching 2026) helps churches manage widow and benevolence ministries—because faith has always been at the heart of everything we do.

More ideas are coming. Because once you've learned to build, you can't stop seeing problems worth solving.
